GREAT FISHING GEAR

A fishing winder is an old, traditional fishing gear for handline fishing. Together with family and friends, Anders Hermansen has pulled up many cods in Øresund with it, resulting in good times and great dinners.

The fishing winder is great for fishing from e.g. boat or kayak, and with its 200g pilk, it’s perfect for catching cod. Changing the pilk or adding a fish snood, it’s also great for catching mackerel, herring or other fish. Ice hole fishing is another fun option.

HOW TO USE IT

Grab the wooden frame with one hand, drop the pilk and hook into the water. Then unwind a suitable length of line with the other hand. Move the wooden frame up and down to make the pilk in the water seem alive. When getting a fish hooked, just pull it up by rewinding the line back onto the frame.
